Foreign Residency Program (FRP)

Foreign Residency Program (FRP):

The FRP is an individual exchange program designed to support the readiness and retention of military reservists when residing overseas for a period not longer than 5 years. Participants are assigned to duty positions within authorized manpower requirements. Participants are given meaningful and responsible assignments commensurate with their grade and qualifications an are integrated into the sponsoring organization as though they belong to the military Service to which they are assigned, consistent with applicable security disclosure authorizations.

FRP tours are typically 12-60 months ( 36 months is normal), within a given country, depending on the parameters established in the applicable international agreement.

An international MOU is completed for each country FRP that outlines the general conditions applicable to the particular program.
